The MB6IOK Wires-X Gateway operates simplex on 433.125MHz and is located on top of the only hill on the West Lancashire Plain, in Ormskirk. The locator squares are IO83nn and SD40 at a height of 78m above sea-level.
The gateway consists of a Yeasu FTM-100D dual-band transceiver, Yeasu HRI-200 Internet Interface, Watson W-30 white-stick vertical antenna and a Dell small footprint desktop computer.

By default the gateway is normally connected to the North West Fusion Group (NWFG) room – 41755.
To access the gateway, tune your transceiver to our operating frequency and press the Wires-X button. If you are in range, you will be connected and you can then control the gateway, choosing rooms to join. After about five minutes of non-use the gateway will return to the NWFG.
